About this trek

This 71.5-km point-to-point trek through Ladakh's Hemis National Park is typically completed in 5 to 6 segments over as many days. Starting in Chilling and finishing in Hemis, the route crosses high-altitude desert terrain with dramatic canyon walls, traditional Buddhist villages, ancient monasteries and vibrant prayer flags, before climbing to the 5,260-metre Kongmaru La pass with sweeping views of the Kang Yatse peaks. Most trekkers travel west to east for better acclimatisation.
