This page explains how to delete your Kashmir Explorer account and the data associated with it, for both the Kashmir Explorer mobile app and this website.
Delete your account in the app
Deleting takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
- Open the Kashmir Explorer app and make sure you are signed in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm when the app asks you to. Your account is erased and you are signed out.
If you can’t open the app
If you no longer have the app installed, or you have lost access to the Google account you signed in with, email us at kashmirexplorerhq@gmail.com from the address associated with your account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm once it is done, normally within 30 days of receiving the request.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently erases:
- your account and profile (name, email address and sign-in identifier);
- your saved destinations and treks;
- your completed treks and their recorded statistics;
- the reviews, ratings and photos you have submitted.
What is kept, and for how long
Security audit logs are retained where the law requires it. These are unlinked from you at deletion, so they no longer identify you or your account.
Anything held only on your phone — saved items while signed out, downloaded offline map packs and the emergency contact you chose — never reaches our servers, so account deletion does not touch it. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android Settings, removes that.
Browsing without an account
An account is optional. You can browse every destination and trek in the app by choosing Continue without logging in, and this website has no sign-in at all.
