Why the app can’t be a web page

Offline navigation means the route, its checkpoints, its safety notes and a corridor of map tiles are already on your phone before you leave the road — and that the device keeps recording your position with the screen off, in a valley with no signal, for a week. A browser tab cannot promise any of that, so this website does not pretend to. It gives you everything you need to decide and to prepare, and hands the walk itself to the app.
