About Naranag
Naranag is a village in Ganderbal district on the left bank of the Wangath river, a tributary of the Sind, about 16 km from Kangan. Its Wangath temple complex, dedicated to Shiva Bhutesha, comprises roughly seventeen dry-stone structures in western and eastern groups about 200 m apart, several partly buried and all now ruined.
The site is centrally protected by the ASI. The village is the trailhead for Gangabal lake and Mount Harmukh.
