About this trek
This 19-km out-and-back trail climbs from Pir Ki Gali on the Mughal Road, through alternating meadows, tundra vegetation and glaciers, to the pristine Nandan Sar Lake beneath the Pir Panjal range. The route touches elevations above 4,200 m and crosses rocky, occasionally snow-covered terrain, so it's best suited to fit, well-acclimatised trekkers. The best time to visit is June through September, when the high pass is clear of heavy snow.
