About this trek

Vaishno Devi is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site located near Katra in Jammu and is one of the holiest shrines in India. The temple is dedicated to Vaishnavi, the combined form of the Goddess Parvati, Saraswati, and Lakshmi, and is one of the 108 Shaktipeethas. The path is paved and offers stunning views of the surrounding Himalayas, lush green valleys, and waterfalls. Numerous rest stops, food stalls, and medical facilities are available along the trail. The trailhead for this route lies by Tarakot, reachable via bus, taxi, or private vehicle. Peak season runs from March to October; visiting in the off-season helps avoid crowds.
