About Nishat Bagh
Nishat Bagh, the 'Garden of Joy', is a terraced Mughal garden on the eastern shore of Dal Lake, built in 1633 by Asif Khan, brother of Empress Nur Jahan. It is the second largest of Kashmir's Mughal gardens after Shalimar Bagh, laid out in twelve terraces representing the signs of the zodiac, with the Zabarwan hills rising behind it and open views across the lake to the Pir Panjal range.
