About Nagin Lake
Nagin Lake, also spelled Nigeen, sits in Srinagar and is often treated as part of Dal Lake, joined to it by a narrow strait. A channel called Nallah Amir Khan links it to Khushal Sar and Gil Sar. Ringed by willow and poplar, it carries houseboats and shikaras and is generally clearer and less crowded than Dal.
A colonial-era club stands on the eastern shore. Encroachment continues to affect water quality.
